Liza Crisafi

Chief Investment Officer, San Diego City Employee’s Retirement System

Liza Crisafi is the Chief Investment Officer for the San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System. She is responsible for investment oversight, setting investment policy, asset allocation and implementation of the $10 billion fund according to the goals and objectives of the system.

Her 30-year career in investments began in South Bend, Ind., at St. Joseph Bank and Trust Co., and she spent 14 years in Chicago at U.S. Bank, SCI Capital Management and the Chicago Trust Company managing corporate and individual investment portfolios.

Liza has a B.A. degree in Art History from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. She is a member of Pensions West, the Private Equity Women Investor Network and the Women in Institutional Investing Network. She has served on the board of the Peninsula Family YMCA and as a member of the Planned Giving Committee for the Salvation Army. She is the past Chair of the board of Girl Scouts San Diego and is a member of its Investment Committee, the Philanthropy Committee and the Executive Committee.

She has received the 2015 Investor Intelligence Award for Private Equity and the 2016 U.S. Investment Management Award for Small Public Pension of the Year from Institutional Investor.
