November 1, 2022 – San Diego, CA – The 4S Ranch-Del Sur Community Foundation (4SCF), an affiliate of San Diego Foundation, today announced the availability of grant funding to support programs that will support youth development in the 4S Ranch and Del Sur communities.
In the 2023 – 2024 grant cycle, 4SCF invites local schools and organizations to submit project proposals that demonstrate a strong mission to support the mental, academic and social-emotional learning development of youth.
Programs can include, but are not limited to, the following:
“We want to care for our youth in every way possible and provide them the necessary support and tools to make our region a more vitalized place to live, grow and play,” said 4S Ranch-Del Sur Community Foundation Board Chair Theresa Burke.
Projects must benefit 4S Ranch and Del Sur Communities, be innovative and be able to be implemented and operate under current business and social distancing guidelines. Grant guidelines including directions on how to register and apply can be accessed at 4SRanchCommunityFoundation.org.
These projects should also be culturally humble and sensitive, practical and achievable within a 12-month time frame and have prospects for long-term sustainability. The minimum funding range is $1,500 to a maximum of $7,500. Proposals must be submitted online no later than 5 p.m. on December 21, 2022.
Since its inception in 2008, 4SCF has granted more than $340,000 to nonprofit organizations working in the community to grow a more vibrant region.

On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
