Cecilia Morales

Director, College Success

Cecilia serves as Director of College Success, where she leads efforts to expand opportunity and ensure more students across San Diego County can access, persist in and complete college. She is driven by a commitment to equity, working to ensure that students, particularly those furthest from opportunity, are supported from K–16 through graduation and into meaningful careers that strengthen their families and communities.

With deep roots in San Diego, Cecilia brings a strong understanding of the local education landscape and works in partnership with schools, colleges, and community organizations to create pathways to success for students. Her work is grounded in the belief that when students are given the resources and support they need, they not only transform their own lives, but also contribute to a more vibrant and resilient region.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Cecilia worked across higher education and college access initiatives, engaging donors, institutional leaders and first-generation college students to expand opportunity and increase access to higher education. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in Ethnic Studies and Sociology from UC San Diego and a master’s degree in Postsecondary Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. A proud San Diego native, Cecilia was born and raised in Barrio Logan and Southeast San Diego and currently lives in City Heights.
