The San Diego Foundation is partnering with Nonprofit Management Solutions to merge both of the organization’s public resource libraries at the Nonprofit Management Solutions headquarters in Kearny Mesa, with the support of a special endowment provided by The Foundation. The official opening of the public resource library will take place on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Nonprofit Management Solutions, 8265 Vickers Street, Ste. C, San Diego, 92111 with an open house from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Bob Kelly, President and CEO of The San Diego Foundation noted that, historically, both The San Diego Foundation and Nonprofit Management Solutions have offered public resource libraries with the Foundation Directory Online (FDO) database, a nationally recognized online directory of grantmaking foundations.
“This resource library exists to strengthen all nonprofits in San Diego so they can, in turn, deliver the most beneficial programs and services to San Diegans in need,” said Kelly. “The combined resource center will continue to be open to the public as a free service, offering a wide variety of resources including the FDO.
In addition, Nonprofit Management Solutions is planning a new initiative to take the FDO on the road so that nonprofits throughout the county will have access to this valuable directory. The expanded resource center includes the following:

On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
