Spring has Sprung in Ramona!

We are excited to announce the 2024 Grants Guidelines have been released. The deadline to submit proposals is May 30 at 5 p.m. Visit our website for more information.

RCF seeks to fund organizations that serve the most vulnerable of our neighbors.  With the cost of living in California ever increasing, we aim to address both emerging and ongoing needs in our community.  In this 2024 – 2025 cycle, we are seeking proposals specifically for Ramona that demonstrate the power to build a more vibrant community. Desirable projects will inspire community pride and revitalization and increase the quality of life of the broader community. Only projects that clearly address Ramona-specific issues and needs will be considered. We look forward to sharing the results at our annual grant ceremony in October!

Would you be interested in being more deeply involved in the foundation, grantmaking and serving your community? We would love to you to have your leadership. Please contact me or Trudy Armstrong at trudy@sdfoundation.org to let us know.

In our 12 years of grantmaking, RCF has granted more than $440,000 to over 100 nonprofit programs serving solely residents of Ramona. This is due to your generosity and pooled philanthropy.

Please renew your commitment today and share the incredible impact on our community by asking your neighbors and friends to join us in this critical work. Please contact Trudy Armstrong at trudy@sdfoundation.org for assistance with a new membership or your renewal.

Grantee Spotlight: Write Out Loud

Write Out Loud

Renewal through Story offers two programs, STORY BOX (KAMISHIBAI) and STORIES FOR SENIORS, which, through the ancient art of storytelling, help build a more vibrant community for Ramona seniors and youth. These programs provided opportunities to connect with one another — which is even more critical after the isolation resulting from the pandemic. Renewal through Story uses storytelling to present literature, folktales, and essays for audiences of all ages.  In 2023, we gave 45 performances of STORY BOX and STORIES FOR SENIORS to the Ramona community, reaching 2,069 people!

We also acknowledge that funders typically like to join other established funders in supporting proven programs. We believe the support of the Ramona Community Foundation has impacted decisions of other funders, including California Humanities ($5,000) and the continuing support of California Arts Council ($15,000), the Heller Foundation ($5,500), the Dr. Seuss Fund ($10,000) and The Tippett Foundation ($25,000)!

Thank you to RCF for all you do!
