Our Regional Affiliate Program and Creative Catalyst Program have upcoming grant opportunities for individuals, community organizations and projects across San Diego.
The Escondido Charitable Foundation (ECF) is pleased to announce its tenth grantmaking cycle. The organization welcomes nonprofits, neighborhoods and leaders serving Escondido to submit applications for projects that focus on preventing homelessness, including recovery from homelessness.
ECF believes that secure and safe housing has a significant impact on individuals’ and families’ lives as well as the whole community. Individuals, youth, families and seniors can become homeless for a myriad of reasons, which are often compounded by other factors.
In an effort to address these issues, ECF will accept proposals that address underlying issues of homelessness.
Organizations may request grants ranging from $15,000 to $35,000. Consideration will be given to projects that demonstrate collaborative efforts with other organizations, and are sustainable and highly visible in the community. Projects must be achievable within a 12-month timeframe.
The deadline for submitting a completed application is February 22, 2016 at 5:00pm PST.

The San Diego Foundation is pleased to announce its fourth cycle of the Creative Catalyst: Individual Artist Fellowships. The Creative Catalyst Program provides grants to support the creation and development of new work conceived by San Diego-based professional artists and focuses on creating opportunities for community engagement through arts and culture.
It seeks to advance the professional careers of artists of all disciplines, elevate the profile of the artistic community and encourage creative expression in the region.
Grants will range from $10,000 to $20,000. Projects will run from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.
The deadline for submitting a completed application is February 19, 2016 at 5:00pm PST.
On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
