November 3, 2019 – San Diego, CA – Escondido Charitable Foundation (ECF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, today announced a call for Letters of Intent for its 14th annual grant cycle.

ECF invites nonprofit organizations and agencies to submit proposals for initiatives that improve the quality of life in Escondido through environmental education and action.

ECF members believe that people of all ages and abilities can play an important role as stewards of the environment. Successful applications may cultivate and train future generations of environmental leaders and stewards, engage the community in habitat conservation, or develop food justice programs that increase access to healthy, sustainable food systems. Eligible nonprofit organizations serving Escondido may submit proposals of $10,000 to $30,000.

ECF is hosting a Voluntary Informational Workshop on November 20 at the Raymond Center for Philanthropy to answer questions about the grant process and help organizations who are considering whether to submit a Letter of Intent. If you are interested in attending, RSVP to Tiffany Cummings at tiffanyc@sdfoundation.org by November 19.

Guidelines for the Letters of Intent are available here. For program questions, please contact Trudy Armstrong at trudy@sdfoundation.org. For technical questions about the online application , contact Kerri Favela at kerri@sdfoundation.org. The deadline for Letter of Intent submissions is January 6, 2019.
