Happy Holidays!
As the Board Chair of the Ramona Community Foundation (RCF), I want to thank our dedicated members as we a celebrate a fantastic year and say goodbye to 2018.
We had an exciting Grants Celebration in October, granting our highest total ever – $46,000 – to 15 very deserving nonprofit organizations that are demonstrating the power to build a more vibrant Ramona community.
Our members and I are proud to make an impact in our community with the help of these grantees. We look forward to growing our organization in 2019 and continuing to contribute to a better Ramona!

We’re delighted to have these community leaders join us in our pursuit of making Ramona a better place to live, work and play!
“We are so thankful for the $3,000 grant we received from RCF!” shared Melissa Sargent, Founder & CEO of 2018 RCF grantee Hearts and Hooves Therapy.
Hearts and Hooves Therapy provides animal-based therapy sessions for all ages.
“The impact of the grant has been amazing and truly a blessing to the Ramona community,” Sargent explained. “It has exceeded our expectations and helped extend the reach of our programs.”
We hope that you will encourage friends and neighbors to support our community through RCF.
Our mission is to preserve the quality of life, protect what is good and create a better future for Ramona.
We’re wishing everyone an enjoyable holiday season and Happy New Year!
As 2018 nears its end and you finalize your year-end charitable giving decisions, please consider three ways to increase your impact in Ramona:
On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
