June 10, 2020 – San Diego, CA – The San Diego Foundation today announced the San Diego COVID-19 Community Response Fund has granted an additional $1.2 million to 20 nonprofit organizations working on the frontline of the COVID-19 health and economic crisis.

The latest round of rapid response grants will provide critical resources to San Diego communities impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, including healthcare and technology for tribal communities, shelter for homeless residents and financial assistance for families and individuals experiencing job loss.

“Our work during the pandemic crisis has been daunting and eye-opening,” shared Mark Stuart, President & CEO of The San Diego Foundation. “The pandemic has not affected all of us evenly and as we begin to recover together, it’s important that we focus on those longstanding inequities in order to build a healthier and safer future for all San Diegans.”

In addition, partners announced that the San Diego County COVID-19 Small Business & Nonprofit Loan Program (SBNLP) is accepting applications at SanDiegoSBNLP.org. The program is designed to provide low-to-no-interest loans to small businesses and nonprofit organizations and aid in the region’s economic recovery from the coronavirus. SBNLP is made possible through a partnership between The San Diego Foundation, San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher, Mission Driven Finance, Accion, the San Diego & Imperial Small Business Development Center Network, and the California Southern Small Business Development Corporation.
