November 15, 2016 – San Diego, CA – Carlsbad Charitable Foundation (CCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, today announced its annual call for grant applications. In its 10th grant cycle, CCF invites nonprofit organizations and agencies to submit proposals that support programs addressing drug and alcohol addiction.

Drug and alcohol addiction is a challenge in North County that affects many individuals and families in Carlsbad. Local first responders are frequently called to incidents involving drug and/or alcohol addicted individuals. Additionally, 68 percent of homeless in Carlsbad have addiction issues.

To achieve the greatest impact, CCF will fund programs that involve collaborative efforts, specifically those bringing together a variety of stakeholders. Organizations that establish successful detox and rehabilitation programs may also address underlying mental health issues.

Eligible nonprofit organizations serving Carlsbad may submit proposals of $15,000 to $60,000. Additionally, projects should be practical, achievable within a 12-month time frame, and have prospects for long-term sustainability. Grant guidelines are available here.

The deadline for submissions is January 9, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. For more information about the application, contact Kerri Favela at
