Growing a Green Workforce
Our Green Jobs efforts aim to create a green workforce representative of vulnerable populations with opportunities to build more resilient communities and grow our economy and prosperity for San Diegans.
A San Diego Workforce Partnership report estimates there are 31,000 people in the San Diego region between 16 and 24 years of age considered Opportunity Youth, or those who are not in school or working.
Our Green Jobs efforts provide Opportunity Youth with:

Career Readiness
Preparing San Diegans with the essential skills they need to find, acquire and grow within a job is necessary to gain and maintain employment

Workforce Development
Training and upskilling the local workforce supports growth for the whole regional economy

Supportive Mentorship
Mentoring helps students gain career and academic advice that sets them up for success when they enter the job market
