Lani Bautista Cabanilla

Senior Manager, Community Impact

Lani supports the community impact team in building equitable pathways to success for all San Diegans by coordinating plans across programs, enhancing operational efficiencies, and implementing strategic initiatives focused on inclusive growth in our region.

Lani brings over 15 years in project management experience from the art, design, and education sectors. Previously the Senior Manager of Programs at The New Children’s Museum, she oversaw the development of studio exhibits with artists and scientists, early childhood programming, and community events. Lani has served as a Board Member for Made in Paradise Hills in Southeast San Diego and Philippine American Society and Cultural Arts Troupe (PASACAT) in National City, and volunteers as a public art panelist throughout the county. Her community service contributions have been awarded the National Medal of Honor by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Inclusive Leadership in Action (ILIA) Award for Economy by RISE San Diego.

Lani received a Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University and an Associate of Arts from The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. She was born and raised in San Diego.
