Senior Manager, Outdoor Access Initiatives

As Senior Manager of Outdoor Access Initiatives at San Diego Foundation, Heather provides critical leadership to support our environmental nonprofit community and regional efforts to improve outdoor access and build an equitable, resilient community in San Diego. Her focus is to ensure outdoor access grantmaking is reflective of community needs.

Prior to this role, Heather served as Manager of Thrive Outside San Diego at the Foundation, leading efforts to enhance cross-sectoral collaboration and increase meaningful outdoor opportunities for youth and families in San Diego County. She also managed Outdoor Access and Balboa Park Endowment Funds grantmaking to further increase access for diverse populations to outdoor experiences. In addition, Heather has served as a Program Specialist at the Foundation, overseeing key objectives in the Community Impact department.

Heather holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from James Madison University. She is also a graduate of the 2020 Lead Advance Class through the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, serves on the steering committee of the Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy San Diego chapter, and the Blue Sky Funders Forum Program Committee.
