April 5, 2019 – San Diego, CA – The San Diego Foundation announced P. Kay Coleman will serve as Chair, Board of Governors of The San Diego Foundation beginning July 1, 2019 for a two-year term.

“Kay has been an exemplary member of the Board,” said Constance Carroll, current Chair of the Foundation Board of Governors. “The Foundation is fortunate in having a Board of community leaders and philanthropists who, like Kay, are willing to do hard work to support the advancement of our region. Having served on five of the Foundation’s committees, having a strong leadership history with organizations like the American Cancer Society, and having familiarity with the entire San Diego region, Kay Coleman brings many strengths to the role she will assume in July.”

The San Diego Foundation Board of Governors is comprised of 22 volunteers with diverse professional backgrounds who are involved in many community and charitable activities. The Board oversees The Foundation by establishing policy and strategy, setting priorities, and approving grants and budgets.

P. Kay Coleman is CFO/Partner of FCB Partners, LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in helping companies become faster, cheaper, and better by improving their processes, systems and culture. She has over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, process improvement and change management. In addition, she is a co-founder of Del Mar Venture Group, LLC, an angel investment firm.

Kay is Chair Elect of The San Diego Foundation Board of Governors and serves on its Governance, Finance, Strategic Planning, and Compensation and Benefits Committees. She is also a member of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Inc. Board of Directors and currently chairs the Society’s Desert Coastal Area Board, which includes San Diego, Orange, Riverside, Imperial and San Bernardino counties in Southern California and three counties in Southern Nevada. In addition, Kay serves on the Board of the Westin Desert Willow Resort in Palm Desert, California.

Kay earned a master’s degree in finance and strategic planning from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a master’s degree in educational and counseling psychology and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee.
