SAN DIEGO (July 15, 2025) — San Diego Foundation today announced the appointment of three prominent community leaders to its Board of Governors: Xiomara Arroyo, Senior Vice President and Market Leader at PNC Bank; Ana Gomez Chapman, Founder & CEO of Muzo Capital Partners; and Chris Howard, President & CEO of Sharp HealthCare.

“We’re honored to welcome these three distinguished leaders to our Board of Governors,” said Mark Stuart, President and CEO, San Diego Foundation. “Their deep expertise across financial services, capital markets, healthcare and civic leadership will strengthen our ability to drive meaningful impact and community well-being – their guidance will be instrumental in shaping a more inclusive and resilient region.”

Led by newly elected San Diego Foundation Board Chair Mel Katz, the three appointments reflect SDF’s commitment to bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to its governance. New Board Members Bring Impactful Expertise

Xiomara Arroyo
Senior Vice President, Market Leader, PNC Bank

Xiomara Arroyo leads PNC Bank’s Organizational Financial Wellness business across Southern California, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in financial services. She joined PNC after 16 years at Wells Fargo, where she advanced from Teller to Vice President and Foundation Manager.

Raised in North County San Diego, Xiomara’s early experiences shaped her passion for financial literacy and economic empowerment. She holds a business degree from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) and earned an executive MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Xiomara is a dedicated community leader, having served as Chairwoman of San Diego Habitat for Humanity and on the President’s Advisory Council at CSUSM. Her work has earned her numerous honors, including the NAACP Distinguished Woman of Color Award and recognition as a San Diego Woman of the Year finalist by San Diego Magazine.

Ana Gomez Chapman
Founder & CEO, Muzo Capital Partners

Ana Gomez Chapman is a seasoned financial services executive and investor with more than three decades of global experience in investment management, capital markets and business leadership. She has held senior roles at firms including Hamilton Lane, Allianz Global Investors and JHL Capital Group, and began her career at Smith Barney, Goldman Sachs and Coghill Capital Management.

Ana currently leads Muzo Capital Partners, a financial services firm that collaborates with companies and investors to identify and capitalize on unique market opportunities. She has served on several corporate and advisory boards, including Lake Resources, MP Materials and Backstop Solutions Group.

A first-generation U.S. citizen born in Colombia, Ana is deeply committed to education and social inclusion. She serves on multiple Cornell University advisory boards and the Investment Committee of San Diego Foundation. Ana holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and completed executive education at Harvard Business School.

Chris Howard
President & CEO, Sharp HealthCare

Chris Howard is President and CEO of Sharp HealthCare, leading a workforce of more than 19,000 employees and 2,700 physicians. With more than 30 years in healthcare leadership, he has extensive experience in integrated care systems, hospital operations and health plan partnerships. Prior to Sharp, he served as COO of SSM Health, overseeing operations across four states.

Earlier in his career, Chris held leadership roles in medical group management and clinically integrated networks, with a focus on risk-based insurance and health plan development. His strategic oversight has consistently driven improvements in clinical quality, safety and service delivery.

Chris currently serves as Board Chair of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and was the 2024 Chair of the San Diego Heart and Stroke Walk. He holds a Master of Science in health care administration as well as a master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma.

The San Diego Foundation Board of Governors is composed of volunteers with diverse professional backgrounds who participate in many community and charitable activities throughout San Diego.
