July 28, 2026 – San Diego, CA – San Diego Foundation (SDF) today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Governors whose leadership across public service, higher education and business will help guide SDF and its efforts to inspire enduring philanthropy, enable community solutions and improve quality of life throughout the region.

Joining the Board of Governors are Danielle Moore, Commissioner on the Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners; Dr. Patricia Prado-Olmos, Chief Community Engagement Officer at California State University San Marcos; and Julian Parra, Head of Commercial & Industrial Banking for California at Western Alliance Bank.

Meet the New Board Members

Danielle Moore

Commissioner, Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners

Danielle Moore is an attorney, public servant and civic leader who serves as a Commissioner for the Port of San Diego, where she chaired the Board of Port Commissioners in 2025. Founder of the Law Office of Danielle Moore, she previously served as a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County and practiced corporate and renewable energy law, advising clients on complex commercial transactions.

Danielle has championed initiatives that expand economic opportunity, strengthen regional collaboration and advance environmental stewardship. She has also served on the boards of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation and The New Children’s Museum. Moore earned her Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.

Dr. Patricia Prado-Olmos

Chief Community Engagement Officer, California State University San Marcos

Dr. Patricia Prado-Olmos serves as Chief Community Engagement Officer at California State University San Marcos, where she leads strategic partnerships that strengthen connections between the university and communities across the region. During nearly three decades at CSUSM, Patricia has advanced educational opportunity, workforce development and regional collaboration.

Beyond the university, she serves on the boards of Lifeline Community Services and the Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee (MAAC) on Anti-Poverty of San Diego County, Inc. In 2025, the North San Diego County NAACP named her Woman of the Year for advancing equity and community empowerment. Patricia holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Pomona College and a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Julian Parra

Founder and Managing Principal, Parra Strategic Advisory

Julian Parra is a strategic business advisor, independent board director and civic leader committed to strengthening organizations, unlocking growth and advancing the San Diego region. As founder of Parra Strategic Advisory, he advises founders, CEOs and boards on governance, growth, succession planning, financial strategy and leadership.

Julian brings more than 36 years of executive leadership experience across commercial banking, capital markets and wealth management, including a 32-year career at Bank of America. He also serves on the boards of the CSU San Marcos Foundation, Junior Achievement of San Diego County and the County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce. He also previously chaired the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation. Julian earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Loyola University Chicago.
