Greetings,
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! You’re invited to the 2021 Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation Virtual Grants Celebration on Thursday, November 18, 2021!
Join us at 4 p.m. for a virtual Grants Celebration as we award your 2021 nonprofit grantees. Enjoy at-home charcuterie and wine tasting while we mingle virtually with RBCF members and friends and celebrate your impact on our community. You must register to attend – watch for your personal invitation.
The Zoom virtual meeting link and wine pick-up location will be sent closer to event date. Please indicate your preference of white wine, red wine, a non-alcoholic option or none when you RSVP. Contact Trudy Armstrong at Trudy@sdfoundation.org if you have questions.
Unfortunately, out of an abundance of caution, with the breakthrough cases, our children and grandchildren not yet vaccinated and not knowing about variants, we made the very difficult decision to not host an in-person event. We are extremely mindful of your health, especially leading up to the holidays. We will definitely be back next year.
I want to congratulate and thank Mary Karscig for all that she does for RBCF. Her experience and knowledge of our community are a tremendous resource for our Foundation Board. We recognized her this year as our volunteer for Hats Off to Volunteers.
I also want to extend a hearty congratulations to Debbie Kurth, our current Grant Chair, who will be recognized at the North County Philanthropy Council event on November 5 as our RBCF Volunteer of the Year.
Congratulations to both of you, but most importantly, please accept our deepest appreciation of all that you do to contribute to the success of the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation.
Nothing is possible without your generous donations. It is your membership that makes all of this possible. Please know how grateful we are for your continued support
Daniel Wilson, Chair

Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation
On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
