Happy summer!
Carlsbad Charitable Foundation (CCF) just finished its 11th annual grants celebration, and now we are about to start our 2018-2019 cycle with incoming Board Chair Sandy Lund. This is the perfect time to start thinking about and volunteering for our Grants, Events and Membership Committees if you are interested in getting more involved in the community.
Please reach out to Estela Mitrani, our Regional Affiliate Manager, at estelam@sdfoundation.org to learn more about the committee you are interested in.
On May 2, members joined together as CCF granted $90,000 back to the Carlsbad community for the 2017-2018 cycle.
Congratulations to grantees Interfaith Community Services, Solutions for Change, and Voices for Children! We are thankful to CCF Founding Members Yvonne & Carm Finocchiaro for hosting this very special evening at their beautiful home.
Check out the San Diego Union Tribune article about the grant news here!
Additionally, every year CCF sends out a Grants Discovery Survey to engage our members in their input about the upcoming grants focus. Please be on the lookout for the survey in your inbox and be sure to share your input with the Grants Committee about the next grant cycle focus. More details to follow.
CCF is proud to welcome our newest members Marshall and Anne Silverstein, Melanie Burkholder, Matthew Anderson, Jennifer and Frank Merchat, Louis A. Mezzullo and April F. Kennedy.
CCF Members and your guests are always welcome to join us at our events so that they can experience firsthand the benefits of being a CCF member.
As always, please remember that you can now follow us on Facebook for updates and the latest happenings with CCF.
It has been a pleasure serving as your Chair of the CCF Board of Directors. As a working mom of twins, work and family is always a balancing act. And although work and family are extremely important, I always make time for CCF.
To me, making a difference matters.
Now it’s time for Sandy Lund to take the helm and lead the way for 2018-2019. Wishing you an enjoyable summer.
Sincerely,
Catherine M. Magaña
Board Chair
On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
