October 29, 2025 – San Diego, CA – California Bank & Trust (CB&T), a leading financial institution serving businesses and individuals across California, announced a commitment to match up to $25,000 in donations to San Diego Foundation as part of its Giving Season Campaign that will help more San Diegans in need. The funds will support immediate relief through the San Diego Unity Fund and long-term community investment through Fifty & Forward, in celebration of the Foundation’s 50th anniversary. Together, both organizations are helping ensure that vital resources remain accessible to the families, students and neighbors who need them most.
Donations will be matched up to $25,000 to the following efforts:
- San Diego Unity Fund: Created to help people right now who are facing growing economic hardship as federal support declines. It ensures that essentials like food, housing and healthcare remain within reach for those most affected.
- Fifty & Forward: Focuses on long-term solutions, investing in the future of children and families, education and the environment. Together, these efforts support both immediate needs and lasting opportunities across the region.
“One of our core values as an organization is giving back and supporting our communities,” stated CB&T President, CEO Eric Ellingsen. “By supporting San Diego Foundation and its San Diego Unity Fund and Fifty & Forward through this campaign, we hope to double the impact and help them deliver critical relief where it matters most.”
Through this matching campaign, CB&T and San Diego Foundation aim to inspire increased donor participation, amplify philanthropic leadership and catalyze community generosity during the year-end giving season.
“This generous match from California Bank & Trust helps respond to the urgent needs of San Diegans by keeping food on tables, families housed and neighbors healthy,” said San Diego Foundation President & CEO Mark Stuart. “This vital commitment goes even further by investing in long-term solutions that keep families strong and neighborhoods thriving. This is what corporate leadership looks like. Together, we’re building a more resilient region.”
Every contribution made to the San Diego Unity Fund or Fifty & Forward as part of the Giving Season Campaign through December 31, 2025, will be matched by CB&T dollar for dollar up to $25,000. Donors can contribute online via San Diego Foundation’s campaign page here.
