The Carlsbad Community Foundation (CCF) Board is excited to welcome our newest board member Diane Proulx of Grand Pacific Resorts. Grand Pacific Resorts has been a corporate member of CCF since 2015.
Diane Proulx
Diane will be filling a seat reserved for a representative of a CCF Corporate Member. When asked why Diane agreed to join the board as the Corporate
Representative, she quoted Mahatma Gandhi: “’In a gentle way, you can shake the world’, so I thought I would shake Carlsbad’s world!”
We appreciate the support Grand Pacific Resorts has shown us and look forward to working with Diane on the continued success and growth of CCF.

In an effort to spread the spirit of philanthropy to Carlsbad’s younger generations, CCF is launching a new membership level available to those that are under 40.
We hope that the Under 40 Membership will give those that are not yet in the position to invest in Carlsbad at the full membership level a taste of what community pooling is all about.
“Our goal is to encourage the next generation of young philanthropists to make an impact in their community through giving,” said Craig Knutsen, CCF Membership Chair. “The future of CCF depends on it.”

The idea that we can do more together rather than as individuals is nothing new to Carlsbad. We hope to inspire a new generation of game changers for the good of our community.
For a minimum contribution of $250 per year, an Under 40 Member will be able to enjoy the same benefits as regular membership, including:

In preparation for our 10th anniversary, we reached out to all of our past grantees and asked if they would be willing to share their success with us in hopes of continuing our impact for years to come.
We wanted to know more about what impact, short or long term, our CCF grant has had on their organization, including personal stories, people touched, additional funding secured and more.
We received some beautiful videos in response to this request, which we will be posting as the year goes on. We would like to first share two videos with you.
The first is from 2014 grantee Carlsbad High School TV Booster Club Program:
The second is from 2013 grantee The San Diego Humane Society, Project Wildlife Program:

On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
