Regional Partnerships
San Diego County is rich with parks and green space, however not all San Diegans have equal access to the outdoors. Many of our region’s low-income, ethnically diverse communities are also those with the least amount of natural space.
Thrive Outside partners help to:
Conduct Research
Identifying gaps in access to parks and green spaces is integral to ensuring progress is made in communities that need it most
Expand Outdoor Amenities
Increasing the availability of outdoor recreational and open spaces, especially in park-deficient communities, means more access for more members of our communities
Create and Repeat Experiences
Providing free and low-cost opportunities for youth to experience the outdoors, time and again, can play a critical role in their social, emotional, academic and physical development
