Founder and Managing Principal at Parra Strategic Advisory

Julian Parra is a business advisor, independent board director and civic leader committed to strengthening organizations, expanding opportunity and advancing the San Diego region. He is the founder of Parra Strategic Advisory, through which he supports companies and boards on governance, growth, succession, financial strategy and leadership effectiveness. Julian brings more than 36 years of leadership experience across commercial banking, capital markets and wealth management, including a 32-year career at Bank of America.

In addition to The San Diego Foundation, Julian serves on the boards of the CSU San Marcos Foundation, Junior Achievement of San Diego County and the County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce. He is past Chair of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation and is deeply engaged in efforts that promote social mobility, workforce readiness and inclusive economic development.

Julian holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BBA in Finance from Loyola University Chicago.
