December 6, 2013 – San Diego, CA – The 4SRanch~Del Sur Community Foundation (4SCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, has released its 2014 Grant Guidelines.
In its seventh grants cycle, the foundation will make grants to help catalyze greater civic leadership, engagement, and volunteerism within the community while meeting community needs in the areas of arts, culture and technology. Applicants for funding this year must include a component in their proposal that measures enhanced civic engagement or significantly builds and measures increased leadership capacity.
“This year, we’re teaming up with eight of the other affiliate foundations to focus our grantmaking efforts on civic engagement and community involvement,” said Tanny Joyce, chair of the foundation. “It is a great opportunity to have a county-wide impact while continuing to support the unique needs of the 4S Ranch and Del Sur communities.”

On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
