October 1, 2019 – San Diego, CA – Chula Vista Charitable Foundation (CVCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, today announced a call for grant applications from nonprofit organizations. In its 10th grant cycle, CVCF invites organizations and agencies to submit proposals for human services programs related to our aging community, arts and culture programs, or a creative blend of the two focus areas.
Eligible nonprofit organizations serving Chula Vista may submit proposals for programs up to $60,000. Programs should be practical, achievable within a 12-month time frame, and have prospects for long-term sustainability. Grant guidelines are available here.
As part of the grant process, CVCF will also be hosting an informational grant workshop for interested organizations. The free, voluntary event will be held on Wednesday, October 9 at 1:00pm at the South County Economic Development Council (780 Bay Blvd., Suite 204, Chula Vista, CA 91910). Interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP to Estela Mitrani at estelam@sdfoundation.org by October 4.

On August 9, 2022, we awarded $838,704 in Opening the Outdoors grants to 24 nonprofit organizations that offer equitable access to outdoor spaces in San Diego County.
“San Diego Foundation is proud to once again support its partners committed to increasing community-driven efforts to enhance accessible outdoor space, encourage youth to learn more through hands-on education and create the next generation of environmental stewards in the San Diego region,” said Christiana DeBenedict, SDF Director of Environment Initiatives.
This year’s grantees will help address these inequities and enhance access to the outdoors throughout San Diego County.
