We are pleased to release the October 2007 Community Needs Assessment Update. Nearly one year after one of San Diego’s most devastating natural disasters, the needs and priorities of those impacted by the fires have evolved. The San Diego Foundation and its Regional Disaster Fund felt it imperative to update the assessment so that on-going recovery work can be as effective as possible.
Significant knowledge has been gained from the assessment process. For example:
Did you know that of the 1,600 homes destroyed
less than 100 have been rebuilt?
In addition to invaluable information, the report also provides a few simple calls to action to help the community become more involved in rebuilding efforts. Click below to see how you can help. |
