Growing a Green Workforce
Our Green Jobs efforts help young adults prepare for careers in environmental sustainability and clean energy – fields that are essential to San Diego’s long-term economic growth.
San Diego Workforce Partnership estimates that 31,000 young people in the region are not currently in school or working. The Green Jobs program focuses on expanding access to training, paid internships and career pathways that help these individuals enter and succeed in the workforce.
By connecting workforce development with environmental solutions, the program supports both economic mobility and community resilience.
Our Green Jobs efforts provide young people with:
Career Readiness
Prepare for employment through job training, certifications and skill-building that align with local industry needs.
Workforce Development
Develop technical and professional skills that support growth in sustainability, clean energy and related sectors across the region.
Mentorship
Receive guidance from mentors and program partners who provide career navigation, academic support and encouragement throughout the transition into employment.
