Opening the Outdoors Program Grants

The San Diego Foundation is pleased to announce the spring 2016 Opening the Outdoors grants program. The goal of this cycle is to advance community-driven efforts to develop and improve access to an interconnected network of natural areas, gathering places, and trails across the county so that the outdoors is easily accessible from any San Diegan’s doorstep.

Organizations may request grants of $5,000 to $60,000. The Foundation will consider projects that increase access to green space, encourage youth from park-poor communities to experience the outdoors, protect the region’s natural space, or build local support for public initiatives.

The deadline to submit a completed application is Friday, May 13, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. PT.

Blasker-Rose-Miah Fund Grants

The San Diego Foundation is pleased to announce the 2016 grant cycle of the Blasker-Rose-Miah-Fund. The 2016 grants will support research projects that advance our understanding of climate change and how to address its impacts in San Diego.

Individuals and organizations may request grants of $10,000 to $50,000. Selected projects will align with The San Diego Foundation’s Climate Initiative to increase regional action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare the region for the effects of a changing climate.

The deadline to submit a completed application is Friday, May 6, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. PT.

Ramona Community Foundation Grants

Ramona Community Foundation (RCF) is pleased to announce its fifth grantmaking cycle. The regional affiliate of The San Diego Foundation welcomes nonprofits, neighborhoods and leaders serving Ramona to submit applications for projects that build a more vibrant and civically engaged community.

RCF will accept grant requests of $1,500 to $7,000. Preference will be given to projects that clearly address Ramona-specific needs, including activities that promote creativity, collaboration and enhance civic engagement.

The deadline to submit a completed application is Monday, June 6 at 5:00 p.m. PT.

La Jolla Community Foundation Grants

The La Jolla Community Foundation is in its third year of grantmaking and invites nonprofits serving La Jolla to apply for a grant during the 2017 cycle. The Foundation will be accepting applications for projects that focus on La Jolla beautification.

This grant cycle is committed to the financial support of organizations, projects and programs dedicated to improving the lives of those who live, work or attend school within the geographic boundaries of 92037. Grants will range from $5,000 to $20,000.

The deadline for submitting a completed application is Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation Grants

The Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation is in its 28th year of grantmaking to enhance the quality of life for those who live, work and play in Rancho Bernardo. In the current cycle, the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation will accept proposals that demonstrate the power to build a more vibrant and civically engaged community.

The goal of the grant cycle is to support programs that make Rancho Bernardo a great place in which to live, work and play. Desirable projects will increase dialogue and participation, inspire community pride and revitalization and increase the quality of life of the broader community. Grants will range from $1,500 to $10,000.

The deadline for submitting a completed application is Monday, May 23, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.
