Enriching the Lives of San Diegans Through Philanthropy for 40 Years

Since 1975, The San Diego Foundation has brought together community leaders, nonprofit organizations, government, business leaders and philanthropists to collectively progress toward a stronger San Diego region for current and future generations.

As we celebrate 40 years of community service and look ahead to 40 more years of regional impact, we recognize the many donors that believe in the power of giving. Philanthropy stands as a key pillar in our region’s prosperity, and we are honored to present opportunities and facilitate all types of engagement and participation.

We also know that San Diego faces new and evolving challenges. With the support of our partners, we are building a movement for positive change and are prepared to meet future uncertainties head on. The mission of The Foundation is to ensure the region’s philanthropic resources are directed responsibly and effectively to support opportunities that can address even our most complex challenges.

We encourage you to read through the annual report to learn more about our achievements and where philanthropy is making an impact in San Diego. Through the commitment of our Board of Governors and staff, as well as a multitude of community partners, we remain steadfast in our work toward a civil society through innovation and collaboration.

Together, as a community, we look ahead to the next four decades as we grow a more vibrant region.

Sincerely,

B. Kathlyn Mead
