How Animals are Enriching Our Lives

It’s no secret that San Diegans love their pets – dogs, cats and more.

San Diego is commonly listed as one of the most pet-friendly cities in the United States and currently ranks as the fourth most dog-friendly city in America.

It’s not surprising, then, that the city is also home to many organizations that help pets and animals enrich the lives of those around them.

Paws’itive Teams is one example of how animals help and serve San Diegans. The nonprofit organization provides service and therapy dogs for people with disabilities in the San Diego region. Each program is customized to meet the needs of every individual.

Not only does the team provide ongoing support and training for the life of the service animal, but it also conducts an active local educational outreach program to improve public sensitivity to people with disabilities.

Pet Adoptions

Several local organizations are also dedicated to the rescue and shelter of animals in our region.

Rancho Santa Fe’s Helen Woodward Animal Center is a unique nonprofit organization that has been committed to the philosophy of people helping animals and animals helping people for over 40 years.

The Rancho Coastal Humane Society and the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility are two other organizations that facilitate pet adoptions and ensure safety for animals and citizens in San Diego.
