For Immediate Release

November 1, 2021 – San Diego, CA – The 4S Ranch-Del Sur Community Foundation (4SCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, today announced the availability of grant funding to support programs that will enrich youth and help them recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the 4S Ranch and Del Sur communities.

In the 2022 – 2023 grant cycle, 4SCF invites local schools and organizations to submit project proposals that demonstrate a strong mission to support the mental, academic and social-emotional learning development of youth and help alleviate stress caused by the pandemic that affects their physiological and psychological health.

Programs can include, but are not limited to the following:

“We know the pandemic greatly disrupted the way youth in our community learn and socialize,” said 4S Ranch-Del Sur Community Foundation Board Chair Theresa Burke. “We want to care for our youth in every way possible and provide them the necessary support and tools during this recovery phase to make our region a more vitalized place to live, grow and play.”

Projects must benefit 4S Ranch and Del Sur Communities, be innovative and be able to be implemented and operate under current business and social distancing guidelines. A full list of grant guidelines can be found here.

These projects should also be culturally humble and sensitive, practical and achievable within a 12-month time frame, and have prospects for long-term sustainability. The minimum funding range is $1,500 to a maximum of $7,500. Proposals must be submitted online no later than 5 p.m. on January 12, 2022.

Since its inception in 2008, 4SCF has granted more than $320,000 to over 35 nonprofit organizations throughout the region.
