LEED: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
In keeping with
The San Diego Foundation's commitment to the preservation of the region's
natural resources and energy conservation, our new facility was designed
and constructed according to LEEDŽ Green Building Standards.
We are proud to announce that our new building is certified
LEED Silver, having met the standards for a high-performance,
sustainable building that is environmentally responsible, less costly
to operate, and a healthy place to work.
Green building benefits go straight to a triple bottom line: PEOPLE,
PLANET and PROFITS.

How did we do?
Energy
& Atmosphere
- Lighting Controls (Fixtures turn off automatically when natural light
is sufficient or areas are not in use)
- Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (23 zones to minimize energy use
and maximize comfort)
- Equipment & appliances are energy efficient
Indoor Environmental Quality
- Increased ventilation and air filtering
- Low-emitting materials (adhesives, paints, carpet and furniture do
not emit fumes)
- Controllability of lighting
- Thermal comfort
- Daylight & Views (75% of all spaces receive direct natural light and
90% of all seated spaces have a direct line of sight to the outdoors)
Water Management
- Low flow plumbing fixtures reduce water consumption by 20%
