“I believe Lori’s experience and commitment to enhancing our region is precisely what is needed for a successful completion of our public engagement phase and the following development and rollout of the vision plan. Her leadership will help identify where The Foundation’s Center for Civic Engagement can play a critical role in implementing portions of the vision and in some instances identifying partner organizations best equipped to address,” said Bob Kelly, President and CEO of The San Diego Foundation.
Lori has most recently served as the Mayor of the City of Escondido from 1998-2010. During her three consecutive terms, Lori was able to bring people together to collaborate on issues to advance the City of Escondido and the region. Lori has also served as the chair of SANDAG, the regional planning agency, where, during her tenure, she chaired the Regional Comprehensive Plan. As a Councilmember, Lori served as Chair of the North County Transit District. During that time she was part of the Coaster train implementation, and planning for the Sprinter Rail Project.
