When Frank H. Ault announced his retirement from Sempra Energy after 37 years of service, the company wanted to find the best way to celebrate the time and dedication he gave through his work in the fields of accounting and finance. Colleagues at Sempra were thrilled to learn that they could help establish a scholarship in Frank’s name through The San Diego Foundation. The Frank H. Frank is honored by the fact that Sempra established this scholarship in his name, and takes great pleasure in knowing that the Frank H. In the Words of Our Donors:
Harvey L. Simmons Memorial Scholarship
“My husband Harvey was a great husband and father who absolutely loved kids, sports and helping others. He was always laughing, joking, smiling and was a great mentor and friend to many. When his life was cut short at the age of 54, we wanted a special way to honor his life, while continuing to do the work that we know he would have done in the community. The San Diego Foundation has been an incredible place to honor the legacy of a great man, while doing a small part to help make a difference in someone's life.”

Vincent Trotter Health Care Scholarship
“My dad was such a fantastic man and loved by all who knew him! He was always helping people. When cancer was about to take his life, we talked about helping students by establishing a scholarship in his name. A big smile came to his face when we talked about the opportunity this scholarship would give. Because of his experience with nurses, home health care providers, and hospice care workers, I decided to open a scholarship for students pursuing a career in the health care field. Now, each time the Vincent Trotter Health Care Scholarship is awarded, my dad is honored and remembered in a very tangible way. "
