Grant Opportunities

Grant Opportunities Our program grants are driven by The Foundation’s mission, values, and focus on results that will bring lasting benefits to each community in our region. In 2011, The Foundation granted program grants of $1.2 million to our communities, in addition to the over $60 million in Donor Advised Fund Grants.

Program are distributed through a competitive process across specific subject areas, each headed by Working Groups of committed volunteers. Subject areas include arts and culture, the environment, health & human services, and science & technology.

2012 Environment Community Grants Program Update

Thank you for your interest in the 2012 Environment Program Grantcycle. We are currently evaluating the impacts of its programmatic initiatives, and assessing opportunities for realignment of these initiatives with findings from Our Greater San Diego Vision. This evaluation will be used to refine Environment Program priorities for convenings, research, and community impact grants. The Environment Program will complete this process in the Spring of 2012. The Environment Community Grants Program will release guidelines for 2012 grant applications at that time.

Oceanside Charitable Foundation Grant Guidelines

Cycle 4 – Science & Technology

Focus:

In its fourth cycle of grant making, the Oceanside Charitable Foundation (OCF) will accept proposals that address issues regarding Science and Technology. The goal of the Science and Technology grant cycle is to support programs that prepare us to be competent, capable citizens in our technology-dependent society.

Program Criteria:

Grant applications must be administered by a viable 501 c (3) nonprofit organization. The proposed grant project must impact the Oceanside community in one, or a combination of, the following ways:

Education
- Grades 1- 8
- Math, Science, Technology
- Preparing boys and girls for the demands of a technological job market
Preparing and strengthening teachers’ abilities to teach in the areas of math, science and technology
Workforce development – Develop an emphasis in cooperation, teamwork, social skills, and collaboration among program participants.

Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation Grant Guidelines

Technology and Technological Innovation

The Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation is in its fifth year of grantmaking to enhance the quality of life for those who live, work and play in Rancho Bernardo. In the current cycle, the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation will accept proposals with an emphasis on integrated comprehensive programs that assist individuals in attaining knowledge and critical thinking skills grounded in technological innovation. The Foundation is looking for programs and projects that demonstrate the use of innovative technologies in areas such as arts and music, health and fitness, curriculum-building, science, and those which advance effective training for and utilization of the newest technologies. The Foundation will fund programs that benefit the general population. The Foundation is seeking to fund programs that enhance attaining knowledge and critical thinking, but will consider funding equipment, software installation and training.

Rising Arts Leaders San Diego

Spring 2012

Rising Arts Leaders (RAL) is designed to help emerging arts and culture administrators maintain and improve their professional competence, enhance their career progression and keep abreast of new developments in the field. RAL Quick Grants provide financial incentives to nonprofit arts and culture organizations to invest in the professional development of their workforce which will enable their institutions to grow and thrive and encourage their employees to gain knowledge and skills for sustainable and successful careers in the arts and culture.

RAL is a program of The San Diego Foundation produced in partnership with the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture and supported by generous grants from The James Irvine Foundation and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
