The Oceanside Charitable Foundation Unveils Science and Technology Grant Cycle

Oceanside, CA - Since 2007, The Oceanside Charitable Foundation (OCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, has raised more than $300,000 to benefit the community of Oceanside. In its fourth cycle of grantmaking, the Oceanside Charitable Foundation will focus on Science and Technology and seeks to impact the Oceanside community in one, or a combination of, preparing students in grades 1-8 for the demands of a technological job market, strengthening the ability of our educators to teach science and technology, and readying our young adults to enter into the workforce.

Oceanside Charitable Foundation and Carlsbad Charitable Foundation to Jointly Sponsor Forum on Access to Food

The Access to Food forum, which is open to the public, will take place on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Oceanside El Corazon Senior Center

November 4, 2011 - The Oceanside Charitable Foundation and the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation will jointly sponsor a forum on Access to Food to emphasize the ongoing vital need to address hunger in San Diego.

The Oceanside Charitable Foundation 2011 Grants Go to The El Camino High School and The Kid’s College

October 6, 2011 -- The Oceanside Charitable Foundation awarded El Camino High School and The Kid’s College $15,000 each at its 2011 Grants Ceremony held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the El Camino Country Club in Oceanside. This is the Foundation’s third year of grant making for the community. In its three year history, the Foundation has now granted over $80,000 back to the community.

The Oceanside Charitable Foundation Grants $2,500 to the Oceanside Museum of Arts
October 26, 20010 - The Oceanside Charitable Foundation (OCF) has granted $2,500 to The Oceanside Museum of Art to support the museum’s newest exhibit, Quilt Visions 2010: No Boundaries. Tom Nunan, immediate past chair of OCF, presented to check to Ed Fosmire, the museum’s executive director, at a ceremony on Saturday, October 23, which marked the opening of the exhibit.

The Oceanside Charitable Foundation 2010 Grants Go to the San Diego Food Bank and Brother Benno Foundation
August 2, 2010 - The Oceanside Charitable Foundation awarded the San Diego Food Bank $18,390 and granted an additional $3,610 to the Brother Benno Foundation at its 2010 Grants Ceremony held Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the El Camino Country Club in Oceanside. This is Foundation’s second year of grant making for the community.

The Oceanside Charitable Foundation Holds 2010 Grants Ceremony
July 26, 2010 –  The Oceanside Charitable Foundation will announce the recipients of grants for 2010 at this special event. Foundation Chairman Tom Nunan said this year's grants will be used for programs to improve access to food.
“In the past year,” said Nunan, “we granted $30,000 to youth-based programs such as the YMCA Youth and Family Services –YMCA Street Outreach to help them meet the needs of the communities they serve. This year, we look forward to helping organizations committed to improving access to food to the needy citizens in the Oceanside community.”
 

March 20, 2008 – Surrounding a night of introductions and information, the Oceanside Charitable Foundation (OCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, hosted a meet and greet for local community leaders, businesses and nonprofits who wanted to find out more about the Oceanside Charitable Foundation and what they are doing to improve life for Oceanside residents and nonprofits through grant making and membership.

Community leaders in Oceanside opened a new chapter in local history recently by launching the Oceanside Charitable Foundation, in affiliation with the region-wide San Diego Foundation.   Co-chairs of the Oceanside Charitable Foundation board, Colleen O’Harra and Tom Nunan, greeted members and guests at a reception at the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce.
 
November 16, 2007 – Community leaders in Oceanside opened a new chapter in local history yesterday by launching the Oceanside Charitable Foundation (OCF), in affiliation with the region-wide San Diego Foundation. Co-chairs of the OCF board, Colleen O’Harra and Tom Nunan, greeted members and guests at a reception at the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Thursday evening.

The creation of The Oceanside Charitable Foundation, an all-encompassing charity, was announced yesterday. The new philanthropy hopes to raise a $5 million endowment by 2012 that would fund a variety of good works. Its motto is “Connecting people who care with causes that matter.”

Former Oceanside City Councilwoman Colleen O'Hara and Tom Nunan are teaming up to co-chair the fledging Oceanside Charitable Foundation, which will be an affiliate of the San Diego Foundation.
