The Escondido Charitable Foundation Enters its Sixth Year of Grantmaking with a focus on Arts and Culture – Vibrant and Civically Engaged Communities.
Escondido, CA – The Escondido Charitable Foundation (ECF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, has released its 2012 Grant Guidelines. The focus for its sixth cycle of grantmaking is Arts and Culture – Vibrant and Civically Engaged Communities. The ECF is focusing specifically on cultural experiences and invites nonprofit organizations to submit project proposals that demonstrate the power of arts and culture to build more vibrant and civically engaged communities through cultural experiences.

Escondido, CA – The Escondido Charitable Foundation (ECF) will celebrate its 5th anniversary on
January 20, 2012 with a celebration at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum in Escondido. The event will include comments on “Giving is a Gift” – The Personal Impact of Philanthropy from Bob Wilson, philanthropist and Escondido native; Jack Raymond, Escondido Charitable Foundation Founding Chair and Bob Kelly, President & CEO of The San Diego Foundation. The remarks will be moderated by Ken Lounsbery, former Chair of the Escondido Charitable Foundation and partner with Escondido law firm Lounsbery Ferguson Altona & Peak, LLP.

The Escondido Charitable Foundation Inspires the Community With Grants of More Than $90,000 to Local Organizations Focused on Workforce Development
October 26, 2011 - Escondido, CA – The Escondido Charitable Foundation (ECF) continued its passionate commitment in support of Escondido by granting $90,000 to local organizations that focus on workforce development. Grantees included Interfaith Community Services ($15,000), YMCA of San Diego County ($25,000), Escondido Education COMPACT ($25,000), and North County Serenity House ($25,000).

The Escondido Charitable Foundation Inspires the Community With Grants of More Than $135,450 to Local Youth Organizations
October 28, 2010 - - Made huge strides in support of Escondido youth by granting $135,450 to organizations that focus on keeping youth in school and out of trouble. Grantees included Tariq Khamisa Foundation ($21,000), Promises 2 Kids ($20,000), Palomar Family YMCA ($25,000), Escondido Union High School district ($25,000), Ubiquitous Music Incorporated ($25,000) and Community House Works ($20,000).
2008
April 1, 2008 – After a successful first year of grant making and growth, the Escondido Charitable Foundation is proud to announce the release of its 2008 grant guidelines. The guidelines can be found at www.endowescondido.org. In January, the membership of the Escondido Charitable Foundation chose the broad category of health for its 2008 grant making focus. In March the members hosted a community forum with residents, schools and nonprofits to guide the Foundation in narrowing the focus and determining the most pressing health issues in Escondido.
2007
November 27, 2007 - Thursday evening, the Escondido Charitable Foundation hosted its first grant awards celebration, highlighting four nonprofits who received grants for their work in the areas of youth education and youth services.
May 2, 2007 – The response has been overwhelming by those who want to help Escondido. In less than six months, the newly formed Escondido Community Foundation has $517,000 in commitments over the next five years from its 91 members, already making $73,000 available for grantmaking before the end of 2007.
January 26, 2007 - It was just an idea in the minds of several Escondido community leaders in 2006, but in the first month of the new year, the Escondido Community Foundation is a reality -- a swiftly growing reality. Announced in November with 26 members, the foundation now counts 57 names on its members’ roster; 51 of whom are Founders and have committed between $1000 and $5000 each year for the next five years.

December 6, 2006 – Amidst the year-end giving season, community leaders today announced the formation of the Escondido Community Foundation. This new foundation created a partnership with The San Diego Foundation that will serve the community of Escondido exclusively.
