San Diego Teachers' Fund
“Making a Difference One Classroom at a Time”
Though few would dispute the importance of providing our children with the highest quality of education, school funding continues to be in jeopardy. Year-after-year, teachers reach into their own pockets to provide students with the resources needed for them to succeed. The San Diego Foundation established the San Diego Teachers’ Fund in 1995 to support our many dedicated public school teachers in San Diego County.
The mission of the San Diego Teachers’ Fund program is to increase student achievement by assisting the many outstanding and dedicated teachers in San Diego County. This program will support the development and implementation of multi-disciplinary, classroom projects that address student needs and increase teaching effectiveness.
Since its inception, the San Diego Teachers’ Fund program has distributed over $1 million to deserving teachers. In the face of continued statewide education cuts, the Teachers’ Fund program awarded over $57,000 to 65 teachers across the county for the 2011-2012 academic year.
