Our Aging Society – Caring for Older Adults
Since 2010, the Health and Human Services program has partnered with Del Mar Healthcare to develop the Our Aging Society program, designed to benefit older adults in San Diego County. The first grants were awarded in 2011 to six grantees to increase case management services and outreach to reduce the negative effects of isolation experienced by older adults. Program partners include Bayside Community Center, ElderHelp of San Diego, Jewish Family Service, Mountain Health & Community Services, Senior Community Centers and San Diego State University.
In 2012, funding will support the same grantee cohort to help these agencies build upon the successes in 2011 and better position the programs for self-sufficiency and sustainability in 2013.
